and Die Hard, but without the gunshots”, will be set on New Year’s Eve 2010-2011 in a hotel near an airport in the Basque Country. A boy will try to get back his girlfriend, who is about to leave for Germany to work in the Tapas y Olé restaurant.

Flanked by producers Tomás Cimadevilla (Telespan 2000) and Juan Carlos Caro (Antena 3 Films), Cobeaga revealed a few details about his forthcoming work, whose shoot will start on June 7 and last six-eight weeks in Madrid and the Basque Country.

Like his debut feature (The Friend Zone), the film is co-scripted by Cobeaga and Diego San José. Although the lead actor has yet to be confirmed, the cast will include Alexandra Jiménez, Miguel Ángel Muñoz, Julián López, Marián Hernández and Mariví Bilbao.

Once shooting has wrapped, the technical team will have to speed up editing and post-production, for the film’s release date has been set for December 22.

Described by the director as a “big vaudeville show”, the film will, like The Friend Zone, be produced for around €3m by Telespan 2000 and Antena 3 Films, who “couldn’t fail to get involved in Cobeaga’s new film after the immense satisfaction with his debut film”, as confirmed by Caro.

Both Spanish distribution and international sales are being handled by subsidiaries of the Vértice 360º group, Vértice Cine and Vértice Sales, respectively.
