is scheduled for release onto 80 French screens today, by courtesy of Pathé Distribution. The number of prints is a clear indication of Gallic audience’s growing interest in the work of the man who brought us Festen.
The cast of It’s All About Love is dominated by Americans: Joaquin Phoenix, Claire Danes and Sean Penn. Written by Mogens Rukov (The Crime Element and Festen), It’s all about love was produced by Vinterberg’s habitual producer, Brigitte Hald of Nimbus Film.
It remains to be seen whether this vaguely Kafkaesque tale set in New York, and featuring characters from Uganda, and with a Polish protagonist called Polanski strikes a note with French audiences.
