Marin Karmitz hands over
Surprise generational change at the head of the film group MK2 which is involved in exhibition, distribution, production, international sales and video publishing. Founder Marin Karmitz yesterday announced that he will hand-over the general direction to his son Nathanaël, 27 ans. Taking advantage of the public opening of the new cinema complex, MK2 Quai de Loire in Paris (read news), Marin Karmitz explained that he will concentrate on the development of MK2 abroad, in particular in China. Also, he underlined that he has every confidence in his successor who has looked after the rise of the subsidiary MK2 Editions (DVD/music) since 2001 and has headed, since 2004, the group’s content (production of films and programmes, cinema distribution, international sales and publishing).
