A regular showcase for unknown talented directors, the French event run by Pierre Todeschini and Jean Gili has chosen nine features for the competition, including the best debut Italian film of the year, a smash hit at this year’s Italian box office: Night Before Finals by Fausto Brizzi (see article).

Also in the running are Shooting Silvio by Berardo Carboni; Agente matrimoniale by Christian Bisceglia; 4 – 4 -2 Il gioco piu bello del mondo, a film by four students of the National Film School; The Wind Blows Round by Giorgio Diritti; Che ci faccio qui by Francesco Amato; Sotto la stessa luna by Carlo Luglio; Piano 17 by Marco and Antonio Manetti; Non prendrere impegni stasera by Gianluca Maria Tavarelli and The Summer of My First Kiss by Carlo Virzi.

The Sergio Leone Award this year goes to Giacomo Campiotti, while Stefano Rulli is holding film lessons and the festival is paying homage to Naples with Mario’s War by Antonio Capuano.
