Road movie The Adventurers hits screens

In Hungarian theatres, Budapest Film are today launching The Adventurers, the debut cinematic feature by Béla Paczolay, a director who has previously worked in television and advertising.

This road movie, starring Péter Haumann, Péter Rudolf and Milán Schruff, will also screen at the 39th Hungarian Film Week (January 29-February 5).

Co-written by the director and Gergely Péterfy, the film follows three generations of men during a road trip across Transylvania. The characters include a trumpet player who is about to be financially ruined by his fourth divorce; his father, who wants to come and live with him in Budapest to escape from his wife; and his son, who is having difficulty shaking off a gambling addiction.

Produced by Unio Film on a budget of €775,000, The Adventurers received financial support from the Hungarian Cultural Ministry and Motion Picture Public Foundation of Hungary.
