European Film Commissions Network formed
The European film commissions will be constituted into a single association headquartered in Brussels, with the aim of meeting regularly, exchanging experiences and promoting joint initiatives.
The proposal was formulated during the first General Assembly of the European Film Commissions Network (EuFCN), held here in Cannes, at which 50 films commissions participated. The complete programme of the European Film Commissions Network will be set after the election of a board of directors, scheduled for next autumn.
During the assembly, the proposed activities launched included exchange meetings, training tools for producers, the sharing of practical experiences, market studies, and a common presence on the occasion of special events. The association will have to bring to the attention of the European Commission, public institutions and representatives of the film industry the importance of the economic impact of the work carried out by the film commissions.
