Adapted by Shérazade Khalladi and FGKO, based on the eponymous novel by Rémy Lasource (a still-serving police officer who writes under a pseudonym), the story revolves around Yann who dreams of leaving the Parisian banlieue behind to begin a new life elsewhere, far away from crime. In order to settle a debt, he’s forced to escort Dara, a young Nigerian trapped in a prostitution ring, to Spain. But Dara sees this journey as an opportunity to escape her jailers…

Du crépitement sous les néons is produced by Yves Darondeau, Emmanuel Priou and Clément Renouvin on behalf of Bonne Pioche Cinéma and by Frédéric Fiore and David Meadeb on behalf of Logical Pictures. The film is co-produced by Lip Productions and benefits from pre-purchasing agreements with Canal+ and Ciné+. Having kicked off on 13 September, and scheduled to wrap on 16 October, filming is unfolding in the Ile-de-France and Nouvelle Aquitaine regions, with Fabio Caldironi at the helm of photography. The movie’s music will be composed by Saycet (Mi iubita mon amour [+see also:

film profile]), while distribution in France falls to The Jokers Films and international sales to Wild Bunch International.
