Proyecta, an initiative of Ventana Sur, Cannes' Marché du Film and the San Sebastian International Film Festival, will host the presentation to producers, international sales agents and heads of programming at different festivals of 15 projects in search of co-production between Europe and Latin America with a view to completing their funding and finding new partners.

The fifth edition of Proyecta, to take place on-site and online in the framework of Ventana Sur (which will run from 28 November to 2 December), will consist of a session of pitchings by their producers on 30 November in Buenos Aires and in-person one-to-one meetings on 1 December. The projects will also have the possibility to make online meetings on 6 December. As a novelty this year, a prize of €5,000 will be awarded to one project.

The selection will be made up of twelve Latin American projects from Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Peru, and Venezuela, and three European projects with a link to Latin America: two with French and Portuguese production (Hashtag Santiago by Rodrigo Litorriaga and Augusta & Kátia by Lud Mônaco, respectively) and a third Spanish project, Us (Nosotros) by Helena Taberna, already shown in the Europe-Latin America Co-Production Forum at San Sebastian. 60% of the selected projects are made by female directors.

The selection was made by Agustina Chiarino (Mutante Cine & Bocacha films), Paulo Roberto de Carvalho (Autentika Films) and Esperanza Luffiego (San Sebastian Festival). 172 projects from first and second-time directors have been submitted, 40% of them by female directors.

Proyecta is part of Ventana Sur, the leading Latin-American film market organized jointly by the Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales de Argentina (INCAA) and the Marché du Film. Proyecta is co-funded by the MEDIA Creative Europe programme.
