- Cineuropa will be a partner of the Directors’ Assembly which is organised on the Croisette by the Directors’ Fortnight, with two debates on the programme

Designed as a platform for directors from all over the world, where they can debate, discuss with professionals and share their experiences and ideas with the public, the Directors’ Assembly will take place for the second consecutive year as part of the 45th Directors' Fortnight, which will be held from May 16th to 26th as part of the 66th Cannes Film Festival.

The initiative has received the support of an exceptional list of people including David Cronenberg, Stephen Frears, Matteo Garrone, Mahamat Saleh Haroun, Naomi Kawase, Joachim Lafosse, Pablo Larrain, Ken Loach, Sergei Loznitsa, Cristian Mungiu, Yousry Nasrallah, Christian Petzold, Nicolas Philibert, Walter Salles, Bertrand Tavernier, Pablo Trapero, Andreï Zviaguintsev and Joachim Trier.

The programme of the event (partnered by Cineuropa) includes two 2-hour sessions which will take place at the Croisette Theater in the early afternoon on Saturday, May 18th and Tuesday, May 21st. The first session will focus on “Independent directors’ experiences worldwide” and the second onThe European crisis and its consequences on its Member States’ cultural policies”.
