Written by Fehner, Catherine Paillé and Brigitte Sy, the story revolves around a travelling theatre company. They move from town to town with their show slung over their shoulders and a circus tent on their backs, and they bring dreams and disorder to people’s humdrum lives. They are ogres, giants, who in the past ate women and children as they also ate up the kilometres while performing all over the place. But today, they are getting old – and no one wants to get old. And just as the party’s getting started!

Interestingly, the director is perfectly familiar with the subject of her film, as her father founded and still manages l'Agit - Théâtre, a travelling theatre company that has spent the last 20 years travelling around France with its circus tent, and which Marion Bouvarel and Inès, the filmmaker’s sister, are also members of.

Produced by Philippe Liégeois for Bus Films, Les ogres is benefitting from a pre-purchase by Canal+, an advance on receipts from the CNC, and backing from the Midi-Pyrénées, Languedoc-Roussillon and Aquitaine regions. The shoot will go on for ten weeks, with Julien Poupard (Party Girl [+see also:
