has adapted from the crime novel of the same name by Robert Wilson. It follows inspector Javier Falcón, head of the homicide department in Seville, as he takes on two cases at once: the kidnapping of his lover’s son by the Russian mafia, and an espionage case related to an Islamic terrorist cell. The film boasts performances by three actors with strong commercial appeal: Juan Diego Botto, Paz Vega and Alberto San Juan (read more).

Within the main sections of the gathering we can already find El camino más largo para volver a casa (in the official section), the feature debut by Sergi Pérez, which was financed thanks to crowdfunding. The title recounts the misfortunes of a man who gets locked out of his house after finding his wife’s dog dying of thirst. On the other hand, in the parallel New Waves section, we could highlight the screening of the new film by Catalan director Pere Vila i Barcelò, La fosa, which, through an old man played by Lluís Homar, reopens the still-unhealed wounds of Spain’s past (the Civil War), in addition to the movie Las altas presiones [+see also:

, by Galician filmmaker Ángel Santos, which is about a young man’s (played by Andrés Gertrudix) return to his homeland.

Furthermore, audiences at the festival will also be able to see films by Pablo Llorca (El gran salto adelante and País de todo a 100), Daniel V Villamediana (Cábala caníbal), Gonzalo García Pelayo (Niñas), Ramón Lluís Bande (Equí y n’otru tiempu) and Ion de Sosa (Sueñan los androides), among others. The complete international selection will be unveiled shortly.
