Scripted by Maury and Bustillo, the film is set in present-day Brittany, during the Celtic festival of Samhain. Lucie Clavel, a young nurse, finishes her first round of care at the house of Deborah Jessel (Pietragalla), a bed-bound and immobile old woman, who "makes do with merely breathing".

Lucie finds out that the house, on isolated moorland, contains "fabulous treasure". Attracted by the lure of gain, Lucie convinces her two best friends, Will and Ben, to help her burgle the house. The three accomplices won’t take long to discover the "treasure", as well as Deborah Jessel’s true identity...

According to the directors, Livide explores "one of the founding myths of fantasy culture, that of the vampire, but from a different perspective, that of its profound loneliness in the world of the living and its bottomless despair stemming from a lack of love… Our vampire is above all a cursed being, profoundly human but condemned to darkness."

Produced by Franck Ribière and Vérane Frédiani for La Fabrique 2, Livide was filmed in Paris for the interior shots (from September 20-October 22), then in Brittany for the location shots (mainly in Quimper, Locronan and Rosmeur). It is scheduled to be released theatrically by La Fabrique in the second half of 2011 and international sales are being managed by SND.
