NOCTURNES POUR LE ROI DE ROME

by Jean-Charles Fitoussi

synopsis

An old German composer is invited to Rome by the King to compose eight Notturni for him. But the memories of his wife who died in this city years before, along with the ghosts of the war during which he was born, prevent him from composing anything. He now sees that the Eternal City had been his destination on this earth, the face of his beloved wife and Mozart’s music, the last joys of his life – that he loved very much in spite of the bad weather.
