La chica invisible (lit. “The Invisible Girl”) is the title of the new series based on the successful trilogy of novels of the same name penned by Blue Jeans (published by Editorial Planeta), which will be made available next year on Disney+ in Spain, Latin America, Asia, the USA and Portugal. ). Taking as their starting point the first novel in the saga, the helmers have imbued it with a darker, more adult-orientated tone, as its underlying theme will be the male chauvinism that underpins gender-based violence.

), “La chica invisible will surprise both fans of the novel and those who aren’t familiar with it, because it’s a mysterious, exciting adult thriller, with a pure cinematic perspective. We want the viewer to step into the shoes of a father and daughter forced to put aside their differences in order to solve a murder case that has shaken the peaceful lives of Cárdena’s residents.”

The shoot for the series began in April in Carmona (Seville) and continued until mid-July in various locations within the province, such as El Viso del Alcor and Gerena. It is now in post-production.

Blue Jeans (the pen-name of Francisco de Paula Fernández) was born in Seville and lived in Carmona until the age of 18. A Journalism graduate, he is the author of the trilogies Canciones para PaulaEl club de los incomprendidos and Algo tan sencillo, as well as the novel El Campamento.

With La chica invisible, he breathed life into a series of extremely successful thrillers for young readers, more than 200,000 copies of which have been sold in Spain, Latin America, Italy and China. His novels, which have been translated into various languages, have amassed more than two million followers, and during his career, he’s been rewarded with the Premio Cervantes Chico (Young Cervantes Prize) in 2013 and the Premio de la Feria del Libro de Sevilla (Seville Book Fair Award). He has just published his 15th novel, Los crímenes de Chopin.

La chica invisible is a Morena Films production for Disney+.
