Untouchable becomes France’s greatest success in Germany

07/02/2012 - Untouchable [trailer] is well named. In Germany, it has topped the box office since it first came out on January 5. Thanks to its German distributor Senator deciding to increase the number of the film’s copies from 160 to 725, this phenomenon of a film each week-end repeats its success on both sides of the Rhine. Between Friday and Sunday evening, it once again beat all its competitors, taking in 556,000 admissions compared to only 192,000 for Underworld, the film in second place.
With a grand total of over 3.39 million admissions, Untouchable, a story of friendship narrated by Éric Toledano and Olivier Nakache, is now the greatest French success ever at the German box office. It has beaten Welcome to the Sticks [trailer] and Amélie that previously held the record.
