TRY TO FLY
by Lorenzo Cicconi Massi
synopsis
When twenty year-old Alessandro unexpectedly loses his parents, he is forced to take on the responsibility of running the family business. He works as a cameraman for Tonino, a photographer who films weddings. Gloria is a pregnant sixteen year-old who “must” get married. Her old-fashioned father Pietro sees that as the only alternative for a daughter with child. But Gloria, despite her youth, is as tough as her father: she plans her escape with the same determination he brings to organising her wedding, and on the same day no less. Unbeknownst to Alessandro, who has been hired to film the wedding, he is part of Gloria's plan. And so begins a journey during which everything changes: the countryside, as well as the internal landscape of the two young people, who, finding that escape suits them just fine, start to work out how they will deal with the adult world.
